Welcome to Westchester Headache Center Located in Chappaqua, New York

Dr. Silverstein has been treating headaches for over 30 years. Over 90% of the patients which we see at The Westchester Headache Center are patients who have previously been examined by other headache centers or headache physicians without having come to a satisfactory resolution of their headache problem. We at the Westchester headache Center are successful 90% or more of the time in bringing those patients to a satisfactory resolution of their headache issues.

Established patients have 24/7 access to a physician for the emergent treatment of severe migraine headaches or other severe headache maladies. Patients suffering with headaches which have failed to respond to oral medications can obtain intravenous therapy in the office. This therapy incorporates the use of pharmacological agents which are often times not available even in emergency room settings. This office allots a three-hour period of time for the initial consultation with the patient and one hour for follow-up evaluations. Our patients receive unlimited telephone support.

Initial Consultation & Follow-up Visits

When a new patient comes to the Westchester Headache Center, we set aside a three hour block of time for the initial evaluation of the patient. We want our patients to be relaxed and unhurried so that we may obtain a complete family, social and past medical history. We attribute our high success rate to this as well as our general availability to our patients at all times.

Routine (non- emergent) Headache Treatment

There are two basic approaches that are used for the treatment of migraine headaches. The first is termed an "abortive approach" and this refers to the situation in which the migraine headache is treated when it first becomes apparent to the patient. Other treatment modalities that can be incorporated include relaxation therapy, biofeedback, homeopathic treatments, over-the-counter analgesics as well as prescription medications. >> Read More

Emergency Headache Treatment Available 24/7

We at The Westchester Headache Center recognize that there are times when our patients develop acute, severe headache pain which fails to respond to the normal treatment modalities. At such times we make ourselves available on the 24/7 basis to treat our patients on an emergency basis and to relieve them of their intractable headache pain.
